The Lebanese army intelligence units raided on Monday a gas station in Arsal town and seized 28275 kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the military command.

The statement indicated that the army units arrested one Lebanese and two Syrian culprits, adding that the interrogation of detainees have started.

A sample of the seized substance was sent to be checked regarding the percentage of nitrogen it contains, according to the statement.

It is worth noting that the detonation of ammonium nitrate was the cause of the Beirut Port blast.

The military investigative judge, Marcel Bassil, issued on Tuesday an arrest warrant against Maroun Sakr and Saadallah Al-Solh over hoarding ammonium nitrates used to prepare explosives in Zahleh city.
