Officials from the railway authorities of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan recently held a trilateral meeting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the National Logistics and Transportation Exhibition of Uzbekistan, focused on the Trans-Afghan Railway project.
The Afghanistan Railway Authority released a statement noting that a delegation led by Eng. Mirwais Ghafuri, Senior Advisor to the Afghanistan Railway Authority, participated in the exhibition.
The meeting involved discussions with representatives from Uzbekistan and Pakistan regarding the Trans-Afghan Railway project.
The statement also mentioned that the meeting included a detailed report provided by an international company related to attracting investments for this project, along with suggestions for improvements.
The railway officials from the three countries decided that practical work on various aspects of the project would commence until the amendment and finalization of the report.
In addition, the Afghan Railway Authority’s team at the Uzbekistan National Logistics and Transport Exhibition held discussions with officials from companies in the transportation and logistics sector.
They addressed issues such as containerization, railcar manufacturing, and other technical matters.
