On Tuesday, unidentified aircraft targeted several posts and vehicles of Iranian-backed militants on Syrian-Iraqi border, killing 18 militants, including a leader, and injuring seven others.

A military source of the Iranian-backed Liwa Fatemiyoun in the town of Abu Kamal said an unidentified flight targeted two military posts of Liwa Fatemiyoun and Liwa Zainebiyoun near the town of al-Hari on Syrian-Iraqi border with over ten airstrikes.

Later, it re-attacked two military vehicles and a truck carrying logistic materials and weapons coming from Iraq and heading towards Syria, according to the source.

The airstrikes claimed the lives of 18 militants of Liwa Fatemiyoun and Liwa Zainebiyoun, including a prominent leader of Liwa Fatemiyoun, named al-Haj Hussein.

The attack caused huge material losses, as it targeted a truck carrying weapons and logistic materials, the source added.

The Iranian-backed militants in Abu Kamal mobilized, evacuated most of their headquarters and hid among civilians’ houses, the source noted.

On October 19, unidentified aircraft targeted areas held by Syrian government forces, west of Euphrates River, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria.
