The Eid al-Fitr prayers were held in the Iranian capital of Tehran and across Iran on Tuesday.

Today (Tuesday, May 3, 2022) is the first day of Shawwal and Eid al-Fitr.

The worshippers in Tehran said their Eid al-Fitr prayers on Tuesday morning with Tehran’s Friday Prayer leader Kazem Seddiqi.

People in the north of Tehran observed Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Holy Shrine of Imam Zadeh Saleh (PBUH), which is one of the largest and most magnificent shrines not only in Tehran but also in Iran.

On Eid al-Fitr, Muslims thank and show gratefulness to Allah (God) for offering them health and resistance during Ramadan. They wear new clothes, prepare special delicacies, do charity, and get together with their loved ones.

People of Iran, like other Muslims around the world, mark the Islamic event of Eid al-Fitr after a month of fasting from dawn to dusk.
