The UN World Food Program (WFP) has raised worry over the status of children in Afghanistan, stating that 3.5 million Afghan children need nutritional therapy in the war-torn nation.
Meanwhile, the program said that the majority of Afghan children had access to nutritional therapy provided by foreign assistance organizations.
UNICEF previously said that by 2022, half of the Afghan children under the age of five would be severely malnourished.
Millions of Afghans have gone hungry as a result of widespread poverty brought on by displacement, unemployment, warfare, and now political transition.
Children are the most vulnerable since the nation is now experiencing a measles outbreak.
World assistance organizations have been urging the international community to help the Afghan people, who are facing the greatest humanitarian crisis in decades.
