Iran Raps Gwadar Terror Attack, Expresses Solidarity with Pakistan

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi condemned the terror attack in Gwadar as an inhuman act and offered condolences to the Pakistani government and nation.

The spokesman also expressed Tehran’s full support for the Pakistani government in an effective and joint fight against terrorist groups that threaten security, peace and development of the two neighboring countries.

“With all our capabilities and determination we are standing by the Pakistani state and nation,” Mousavi said.

At least three unidentified terrorists ambushed the Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar on Saturday. After a shootout between law enforcers and the armed assailants that lasted for more than an hour, the terrorists were killed.

A security guard, who was reportedly trying to stop the assailants lost his life.

The Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar is located on the Koh-e-Batil Hill south of West Bay on Fish Harbour Road.

On April 18, around 15 to 20 gunmen wearing camouflage uniforms stopped up to six passenger buses travelling between Gwadar and Karachi and shot 14 passengers dead in Ormara.
